Calendrier de Mécanos is an annual fundraising project, currently in its 8th year, that provides financial support to community bike shops and cycling initiatives in Montreal. Last year, proceeds from calendar sales went to all participating community bike shops, as well as funding the creation of the cyclo-feministe zine, Londonderry. The Calendrier also aims to raise awareness about cycling culture and rights, and to promote body-positivity by representing mechanics of diverse body types, ethnicities, genders, etc.

Biking is a dream of liberation, manifested!

We move with ease and power and freedom through different environments and moments. We bike passed a front yard of spring blossoms and the scent overwhelms us. We gaze up at a full moon and it fills us. I wanted these photos to reveal the immediacy and intimacy with the natural & urban world that biking allows.  And the transformative magic of sharing that with our community.
